The Problem
The Dealer Portal is the platform that CDK Dealers manage apps they subscribe to on Fortellis. User feedback revealed that there was a need to not only subscribe to apps but Dealers also wanted to access APIs directly to power their business data needs. This was a large feature to be added to Dealer Portal and the current navigation to just manage apps would need an overhaul.
Dealer Portal - Left Navigation
The solution to this would be the addition of a left navigation. The benefits of this solution:
Scalable as the platform grows
Improved hierarchy of operations. Apps and APIs would be separately managed.
User feedback applied directly to onboarding flows and edit flows, making discoverability and use much easier.

Gallery 1 is the current user journey map for onboarding an app (no left nav)
Gallery 2 is the first step of improvements that include the left nav. The onboarding flow is still kept minimal to keep the user focused on completing the onboarding process
Gallery 3 is the future state with a Dealer Dashboard, robust left nav and ability to manage Apps and APIs.
